twenty-four thousand…

Posted on 12/13/202002/24/2021 by Nikki Louiselle

You guys…
I can’t really even wrap my head around this.
So…I spent this weekend doing some of the boring, back door tasks required when you own a blog.
I cleaned up bounced notifications. I watched SEO tutorials and read SEO guides. I studied my analytics so I can continue growing and learning how to do things better.  And, I deactivated little-used plug-ins to create room for new, more useful plug-ins.

One of the plug-ins I use is what allows readers of Just Shake It Off to share a post to social media that they’ve found interesting or helpful. Digging in a little further, I discovered I could add a complimentary plug-in to that plug-in that would allow me, and others, to see how many times a post has been shared.

This is when and where the boring, back door stuff just. got. interesting.

You see that photo over there on the right…?   Those icons are the share buttons and that text under the share buttons is my ā€œshared countsā€.
And that’s a twenty-four.
Followed by a K.
24K.
TWENTY. FOUR. THOUSAND.

That’s how many times one post, a post titled “this is me…”, has been shared.
What in the crazies?!?
I really, really can’t wrap my head around that.

Just Shake It Off readers, strangers, and you…all of you…felt that the words I wrote were interesting enough or helpful enough to share over 24,000 times.

The second photo over there on the left shows the “shared counts” numbers and the rank of other posts on my blog.

The actual list is longer. But, you know…I just started to feel bad. I was feeling really bad for the posts that didn’t get as many shares. They matter, too. So, I cut it off at numbers 1-5.

Anyway…I’m writing all of this, not for me, but for all of you.
To say THANK YOU.
Thank you for continuing to visit and read Just Shake It Off.
Thank you for taking the time to share the things you feel are important.
And thank you for helping me make a difference.
What a blessing you are to me.
